By the end of this fun class class, children will be able to follow simple instructions to measure, mix, and layer ingredients to create a pancake cake, while learning basic kitchen safety and developing fine motor skills and creativity in food presentation.
- Understand Ingredients and Tools:
- Identify and name the key ingredients used in a pancake cake (e.g., flour, eggs, milk, sugar, baking powder, butter, cream, fruits, etc.).
- Recognize and correctly use common kitchen tools and equipment (e.g., mixing bowls, whisk, frying pan, spatula, measuring cups/spoons).
- Follow a Recipe and Cooking Process:
- Accurately measure and mix ingredients following step-by-step instructions for pancake batter and filling.
- Safely cook pancakes on a stove or hot plate under supervision.
- Cool and handle pancakes appropriately for layering.
- Assemble and Decorate:
- Stack and layer pancakes evenly to form a cake using fillings such as whipped cream, fruit, or chocolate spread.
- Apply basic decorating techniques using toppings like fresh fruits, sprinkles, or icing.
- Exercise creativity in presentation while maintaining structural balance.
- Practice Kitchen Safety and Hygiene:
- Wash hands and handle food safely.
